Have a classic car, ATV, small boat, motorcycle, or some other type of vehicle? Use one of our drive-up storage rooms to store it during the off-season or year-round.

And here are some helpful storage tips to help you when it’s time to pack up your belongings and put them into storage:

  • Always label boxes clearly on multiple sides and create aisles so items are easily seen and accessible.

  • When packing smaller objects, remember to fill boxes completely, using packing materials to fill voids and prevent collapsing when stacked.

  • Use small boxes to pack heavy items such as books, and avoid boxes that are too heavy to carry or might collapse from too much weight.

  • When storing delicate items, use specially constructed boxes and be sure not to stack other items on top of them.

  • Use furniture drawers to hold clothing, linens, or other items that don’t need to be specially packed.

  • Store items like pots and pans inside appliances, such as stoves or refrigerators.

  • Break down items whenever possible (e.g. table legs) and store large furniture (e.g. tabletops, sofas) on end to save space.

  • Store furniture carefully, off the floor (on boards or pallets) whenever possible.

  • Cover mattresses and store them flat on level surfaces or stand them on end.

  • Use protective covers and treat wood surfaces before storing.

  • Do NOT store anything combustible (e.g. paint, chemicals) or perishable (e.g. food that is not permanently sealed).

  • Use trash cans to store hoses, garden tools, etc.

  • When storing lawn and garden equipment, drain any fluids prior to storage in order to avoid corrosive damage or storage of combustible fluids.
